Visit the Lemptégy volcano on foot or by train
Just a few metres from Vulcania, the Volcan de Lemptégy takes you on a journey that's unique in Europe, to the heart of a real volcano. Take the little train or go on foot for a 2.30 hour visit to discover this fascinating edifice. At a depth of 80 metres beneath the ancient crater, your guide will share his passion for geology with you, as you come into contact with volcanic slag, bombs and chimneys.
At the end of the visit, fun and immersive attractions take you on a spectacular journey through the geological history of the Chaîne des Puys.
Open from February to November, the site also offers a restaurant, a shop and surprising accommodation, Les Lodges de Lemptégy ***.
In July and August, enjoy a magical experience as you descend by night right into the heart of the volcano! Following the mysterious quest of the flamboyant fox Lapili, enjoy a spectacular sound and light show and witness the awakening of the Volcano.
